Neptune, God of the Sea, is the ruler of Pisces. In astrology, Neptune is considered a planet of inspiration, dreams, psychic receptivity, illusion, and confusion. Neptune rules spirituality, and all things subtle. A youthful, and sometimes naive, spirit characterizes those with a strong placement of Neptune in their natal charts. On the upside, Neptune is associated with intuition and spiritual enlightenment. As well, it is a planet of mercy and compassion. The more negative manifestations of Neptune include deception, trickery, deceit, guilt, and addiction. In the chart, the position of Neptune by sign will be shared with other people in the same generation due to Neptune's slow movement in the heavens. By house, Neptune's position shows where intuition, dreams, and psychic sensitivity come into play. Natives may be able to rise above the demands of the ego in the areas of Neptune's influence.

In the latter part of the 19th century, fountain pens became popular but they required filling with an eyedropper. Ultimately, the self-filling fountain pen was made practical thanks, in large part, to Roy Conklin, owner of the Conklin Pen Company of Toledo, Ohio. Roy Conklin did not invent the fountain pen, but he made it more convenient with his invention of the Crescent Filler. The Crescent Filler, a piece of metal shaped like a crescent moon, extended from the side of the pen. In 1903, Mark Twain called it *a profanity saver because [the Conklin pen] wouldn't roll off his desk.* But more importantly, when pressed, the internal bar attached to the crescent collapsed an internal sac that, when released, allowed incoming ink to displace the expelled air. The pen was so easy to refill that Mark Twain said *I prefer it to ten other fountain pens, because it carries its filler in its own stomach. . . .* Conklin was one of the leading forces in the fountain pen industry for the first few decades of the 20th century, but increased competition and the effects of the Great Depression led to the demise of the company in 1955. New pens were produced under the Conklin brand name starting in 2000 and in 2009, the Yafa Pen Company (active in the pen industry for over 30 years) purchased the Conklin Pen Company. The Yafa-owned Conklin Pen Company intends to revive the quality associated with the original Conklin Pen Company of the early 20th Century. Leading this decision is the new Conklin Deco Crest. Art Deco was a design movement that began in the mid-1920s at the height of the Conklin fountain pen business. The movement affected everything from building design, such as the Chrysler Building in Manhattan, to fashion, to the fountain pen business, and Conklin pens epitomized the designs of this movement. Accordingly, this new limited edition is an exemplar of the Art Deco movement. The Conklin Deco Crest is available as a fountain pen and ballpoint. Both are made in Florence, Italy by the hands of the descendents of the artisans that made Florence the artistic center of the High Renaissance. Both pens come with a silver overlay out of which a design is cut showing the resin underneath. Added to this design is the beveled edge and gravure workmanship carved into the metal. Both fountain pen and ballpoint are available in rose gold vermeil (rose gold over silver). The 18-karat gold nib has the same markings found on the original Conklin nibs with the addition of a two-tone gold and silver design on the top. Available in a Limited Edition of 98 pens in each mode. Of course, the fountain pens are filled by a Crescent Filler.

The Mapuche people were the first inhabitants of half of the area today known as Chile and Argentina. Before the Spanish arrived in 1541, the Mapuche occupied a vast territory in the Southern Cone of the continent. The Mapuche nation now constitutes the third largest indigenous society in South America. A century after their arrival, the Spanish signed the Treaty of Quillin (1641) which defined frontiers with the Mapuche nation. With the defeat of the Spanish by the newly formed states of Argentina and Chile in 1810, the original treaties of 1641 were abrogated. Under the pretext of promoting civilization and Christianity, the Mapuche people suffered territorial conquest, military aggression and persecution resulting in the destruction of entire communities. Today, the new democratic government in Chile has provided financial support for Mapuche groups. The call now is for judicious funding of projects that the Mapuche themselves plan. The Mapuche persist in demanding respect for their rights as a people, the return of their lands, and justice and freedom.
The collection is hand turned from solid bars of a specially designed dark grey resin interleaved with jagged layers of white resin, portraying rock formation commonly found in the region. The pens feature a solid sterling silver ring decorated with drawings from the Mapuche flag. A medal on the cap is engraved with a picture of the Mapuche calendar portrayed in the flag as well as rings in resin in same colors as the flag.
The sterling clip features a three-dimensional representation of the typical tribal totem, called Chemamull.
The collection is comprised of 541 numbered Special Edition fountain pens in vermeil trim (gold-plating over sterling silver) with a push button filling system. The Limited Edition comprises both 1,541 numbered fountain pens, cartridge/converter filling, and 1,541 ball pens with sterling silver trim. Each fountain pen is enhanced with an 18 kt gold nib, available in M, F, XF and B widths. The ball pens are easily convertible into rollerballs.

Place Vendome, commissioned by King Louis XIV, is defined by its majestic proportions and a strong sense of symmetry, as well as by its octagonal shape... unique in the world. It is also one of the most emblematic squares of French 17th century architecture. Following his victory at Austerlitz at the beginning of the 19th century, Napoleon enriched the square by erecting the Vendome Column, made using bronze from cannons left behind by the Austrians after the battle. S.T.Dupont has been inspired by this mythical square, which today hosts shops owned by the most famous French jewellers, to create a new limited edition decorated with added metal parts, sumptuous cornices, precious hematites and the subtle colour of grey lacquer, all set off by a luxurious palladium finish. The pen echoes the appearance of the column in the square. Napoleon’s famous quotation is engraved on the body of the pen - Impossible n’est pas français -(Nothing is impossible for the French).
This unique Limited Edition is numbered out of 1810 fountain pens and rollerballs, a reference to the date when Napoleon erected the Vendome Column. The 18 kt gold nib is available in medium width only, cartridge/converter fill.

Neptune is the God of Water and the Sea in Roman Mythology. He is the calm Emperor of a peaceful kingdom under the deep sea, knowing and controlling everything that happens related to the sea. As soon as the winds start to create disturbances, Neptune appears and with his noble serenity, re-establishes tranquility and order. S.T. Dupont pays tribute to the crucial element – water – and its Roman God through this limited edition embodying waves and vibrations of the sea in a very sophisticated, deep blue Chinese placed lacquer. The mirror polished palladium conveys mystery and luxury. As a signature to this limited edition, three circles are engraved in a palladium circle. The fountain pen is cartridge/converter fill, enhanced with an 18 kt gold nib in Medium width. Each writing instrument is made in an edition of 888 pieces worldwide.

2010 Pen of the Year Limited Edition...a secret art with highly aesthetic results. For the Pen of the Year 2010, Faber-Castell has returned to a process for which very few workshops still have the skills: the gunsmith’s art of case hardening. Founded in 1761, the Faber company developed into the leading manufacturer of wood-cased pencils which created a series of fascinating products that set standards to this day. The uncompromising awareness of quality, the innovative drive, and the social commitment of past generations form the basis of the company’s dealings to this day. It is now headed by Count Anton W. von Faber-Castell, the eighth generation of his family. Count Roland von Faber-Castell, the father of the present Count, was a passionate huntsman. The aesthetic appeal of some very valuable hand-crafted hunting rifles, owned by Count Roland, inspired the Pen of the Year 2010.
On seeing the new pen one immediately notices the case-hardened metal parts and the fine engravings. Until the late 19th century, case hardening was the sign of a fine gun, with the inimitable shimmering coloration it provides. For centuries, the technique was handed down by word of mouth and was something of a secret art. The iron parts are usually packed in carbonized leather and heated to convert the surface into steel; the fine nuances of colour appear on quenching. Only recently has it been discovered that some 20 parameters contribute to the beautiful visual effect, including the thickness of the metal, the temperature, and the rate of cooling. With long experience a craftsman can influence the results but never predict them precisely, so no two case-hardened items are identical. The character of the case hardening is emphasized by elaborate engraving and a 24-carat gold inlay, inserted by hand. Nowadays there are only a very few traditional workshops that can carry out these ancient skills in the way that the Pen of the Year 2010 demonstrates. In addition, the material of the barrel of the pen fully matches up to the claim of exclusivity: it is the valuable wood of the Caucasian walnut. Seasoned for many years, walnut wood is tough and inelastic, with fine but marked patterns: it does not warp or splinter… the ideal wood for the stock of a gun – and for very special writing implements. Valuable too as it is not enough to fell the trees: the stumps have to be dug out, because the best figured wood is in the roots that go deep into the ground. No other tree warrants this time-consuming excavation.
The valuable wood of the barrel and the splendid metal parts make the Pen of the Year 2010 an exclusive and individual fountain pen. The 18-carat bi-colour gold nib is available in - F, M and B widths. The platinum-plated end cap protects the knob for the plunger mechanism, on which each pen is individually numbered.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens, who achieved worldwide renown as a writer under the pseudonym of Mark Twain, was born in Missouri in 1835. He left school at 11 years old and in 1857, he had himself trained as a steersman. For several years piloted a Mississippi steamboat. It is from this period that his literary pseudonym emerged: the cry of *Mark Twain* signalled a navigable depth of Two Fathoms. In his literary works, Twain recalled the defining period of his life spent as a steersman on the Mississippi. The design of the writing instrument is also inspired by the river that had a lasting influence on Twain and his work.
The sinuous curving lines on cap and barrel, made of deep-blue precious resin, reflect the shallow waves of the river. The top of the cap is shaped to resemble the Mississippi steamboat chimneys, whose steam is illustrated by ivory-coloured precious resin. The clip is formed by a stylized jew*s harp (a small musical instrument which is held against the teeth or lips, and plucked with the fingers, that was popular in the Southern states during this era). Platinum-plated mountings and the ivory-coloured Montblanc emblem complete the distinctive character of the writing instrument. The crowning features of this unique Limited Edition are Twain*s signature and the number of the pen on the cap ring, and the two fathoms engraved on the rhodium-plated 18 kt gold nib. The limited edition marks the centenary of Mark Twain’s death in 2010. Limited to: 12,000 piston-fill fountain pens;15,000 ball pens; 6,000 rollerballs; and 3,000 sets consisting of fountain pen, ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil.

The Montegrappa ICON series pays tribute to cultural giants. Launching the series is the man who revolutionized boxing on every level: Muhammad Ali. His talent, his skill and the path of his career introduced monumental changes to the sport, and the way it is perceived. Born Cassius Clay in 1942, the young Ali won numerous titles as an amateur, reaching international prominence with the Light Heavyweight Gold Medal in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Before the age of 18, his record was 127 wins with five losses. As a professional boxer, Ali shattered stereotypes, his stance and speed serving him in a way not typical of heavyweights. With his good looks and unparalleled gracefulness, allied to quick wit and verbal dexterity that would inspire rappers a generation later, Muhammad Ali created not just an enviable record in the ring – he extended his influence beyond the arena. His stance against the Vietnam War, his conversion to Islam, his litany of eminently-repeatable quotes, his comebacks: Muhammad Ali became a cultural force beyond the confines of sport. In terms of his impact as a notable personality of the 20th Century, he ranks as an icon of the highest standing and influence. To reflect elements of his varied, eventful career, Montegrappa has integrated a number of characteristic details into this Tribute to Muhammad Ali Pen. The 18 kt gold nib sports the *raised arms* silhouette of the victorious boxer. Finished in white pearlized resin with a black stripe running its length, the barrel bears the colours of his boxing shorts. In order to achieve the desired black-and-white effect, Montegrappa employs a state-of-the-art material with unique properties. These include half the weight of glass of the same thickness, excellent optical clarity and light transmission properties, the ability to withstand temperature extremes at different altitudes and superb flexural strength for superior resistance to breakage. Equally important, as the writer enjoys physical contact with the pen, the material also proves warm to the touch. The end of the barrel completes the look with two circumferential black stripes, as found at the tops of Ali*s socks. The rolling ball pocket clip takes the shape of the stitching on Ali*s boxing gloves. The cap profile follows the arc of a speed bag, while the end of the cap is shaped in the cushion form of the World Championship diamond-encrusted ring worn by Ali and his corner team. Lastly, the cap incorporates the great man's signature, in black, with the legend *The Greatest of All Time*. 1942 is the year of his birth. He fought 61 fights. He won 56. His wins by knockout numbered 37. Guided by these figures, Montegrappa has issued 1942 fountain pens and 1942 rollerballs with sterling silver trims; 61 fountain pens with solid gold trims and 56 rollerballs with solid gold trims. Also available will be ana 37 pen *knock-out* edition, solid gold-trimmed and set with diamonds in the cap*s end-piece, each bearing a number corresponding to a specific opponent and fight, engraved with the fighter*s name, as well as the date and location of the event. Muhammad Ali has summed up, with his characteristic mix of modesty and boastfulness, the contribution to global culture that defines his place in the ICONS series: *I'll tell you how I*d like to be remembered: as a black man who won the heavyweight title, who was humorous and treated everyone right, as a man who never looked down on those who looked up to him, a man who stood for freedom, justice and equality, and I wouldn*t even mind if folks forgot how pretty I was.* The fountain pen is cartridge/converter fill.

SOLAIA LIMITED EDITION - Omas Homage to Marchesi Antinori
Omas confirms its own passion for the world of wine with its new Limited Edition, dedicated to the prestigious Italian wine tradition, which pays homage to Marchesi Antinori’s seventeenth-century history. Omas and Marchesi Antinori, both symbolize the refined exclusiveness of Italian products, reflecting similar values in their handcrafted tradition, with attention to testing and innovation. The *wine* origin of the Antinori family dates to 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the *Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri*. Since then, 26 generations have managed the business with unwavering respect for tradition and the land. Today, Marchese Piero Antinori together with his three daughters, perpetuate Marchesi Antinori’s spirit, tradition, passion, and deep-seated values which made this wine house one of the main Italian producers of quality wine. In 1978 Solaia was first produced almost accidentally, thanks to Marchese Piero’s intuition. It was the first Italian wine elected *Wine of the Year* in 2000 by Wine Spectator Magazine and continues to increase in popularity worldwide. The Oak Wood of the Marchesi Antinori barrels, where the precious wine has aged for years, produced in the Tignanello Estate in Tuscany, form the body of the Solaia Limited Edition. Elegant engravings recall the world of this noble wine: the family coat of arms and the vine plant dominate the cap surface. The shape of the wine barrel douelle is skillfully recalled in the rounded clip. Recalling the first historical Solaia wine year, there are 1,978 pieces in the Edition: 1,200 piston filling Fountain Pens and 778 Rollerballs. The box, inspired by the Solaia wine packaging, exalts the beauty and the splendor of the precious writing instrument.

The patent for the original Omas Doctor pen was issued in 1927 to Armondo Simoni, the founder of Omas. The first pen had a special elliptical shape (which is celebrated through this current design), which was way ahead of its time. Today’s version is made of a blue/black cotton resin cap with a sterling silver body consisting of the Aesculapius stick. Piston fill with 18 kt gold nib, available in M, F, XF and B. The Silk Way refers to the network of caravan and trade routes, covering approximately 8,000 km over land and sea, and along rivers, along which trade flowed in Antiquity between the Chinese Empires and the West. For centuries, caravans of camels loaded with silk passed along it. For a long time, China kept the secret of how this valuable material was manufactured, thus guaranteeing a monopoly of this highly prized product which found purchasers as far away as the Roman Empire in the west. The name “Silk Way” appeared for the first time in 1877, when the German geographer Ferdinand von Richthofen published his work Tagebucher aus China. This Limited Edition pays homage to this route which condenses in a single expression centuries of history and events which have marked the destiny of peoples and cultures. Made entirely of solid silver, on the surface of which can be seen meticulous enamel decorations of the most representative elements of the historic route. On the cap, embellished with a jade tip, is masterly microfusion and enamel work symbolizing the overland journey completed by the caravans of camels across the desert. The clip, like the 18 kt gold nib, is decorated with the arabesques which appear on the flag of the “Serenissima” Republic of Venice, the homeland of Marco Polo, the most famous traveller between West and East. In contrast, the reservoir represents the geography of the sea routes which connected the West, starting from the Venetian lagoon, to the East and the coasts of China and Indonesia. Even today, the Silk Way is synonymous with exoticism, adventure, cultural exchange and travel to distant lands. In further tribute to the German text which memorialized the Silk Way in the year 1877, a total of 1877 writing instruments have been produced: 1,000 piston-fill fountain pens and 877 rollerballs.

FIRE - An Achievement of Civilization Limited Edition...The Power of Fire in the Hands of Man.
Fire attracts people like magic. It provides warmth, light and a feeling of security. By learning how to control fire, early man took one of the most important instruments of mankind in hand. Fire gave him the freedom to form his own living conditions. No other achievement has so affected civilization or even made it possible in the first place.
Pelikan has dedicated this limited edition to the power of fire in the hands of man. The fiery red fountain pen combines both sides of the element: its beauty and its unbridled power give distinction to the shaft, upon which richly lacquered tongues of flame open up into sparks of five, hand-set, precious topazes. Tamed fire is the motif on the cap and the beautifully etched 18 kt gold nib, available in Fine, Medium and Broad widths. Our forefathers already burned wood and used the glowing coals of 500 degrees Celsius and more to warm themselves and to cook food. Pelikan honors the ability of man to make fire useful and has restricted the amount of the limited edition *Fire* to 500 piston-fill writing instruments worldwide.
