George Gershwin Donation Special Edition Collection
George Gershwin was the composer who bridged the worlds of classical music and jazz. Today, he is considered as the man who brought jazz into the concert hall! Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1898, George Gershwin was an American composer and pianist. Among his best-known works are the orchestral compositions *Rhapsody in Blue*, *An American in Paris* and *Porgy and Bess*, now considered one of the most important American operas of the twentieth century. On the 120th year anniversary of his birth, Montblanc pays tribute to this exceptional composer. The cap and barrel are made of black precious resin combined with platinum-coated fittings. The clip is inspired by his iconic clarinet opening of *Rhapsody in Blue* on February 12, 1924. Clarinet has been instrumental for the success of this composition masterpiece.
The Fountain pen nib is finely engraved with skylines, which is inspired by the album cover of Rhapsody in Blue and is enhanced with a solid 14kt gold nib, available in medium and fine widths.
