Noodlers | Neponset Music Pen Collection
The Neponset 3 tined music nib has a velvety pen stroke with the ability to greatly vary the line width to the user*s liking. The ink flow is consistent and generous from the single channel ebonite feed. The Neponset comes equipped with a piston fill mechanism. Why Neponset? It is so much more than a name. The Neponset is a glimpse back in time. A journey to an era of legacys, new beginnings and war heroes. A time of the New England Airship Co., later renamed the Dartmouth Airship Co., which was the first of its kind in the United States. The year was 1929, a challenging time for our country. Soon after, the grandfather of Nathan Tardif (founder and proprietor of Noodlers Ink) became CEO and one year later christened a new airship named the Neponset. Due to the slowing economy, as well as the delayed growth of the airship*s passenger business, the company, in an attempt to generate publicity for the airship, decided to use the blimp for mail delivery. They chose the mooring mast of the Empire State building. The traffic below of onlookers caused the city to ban any future attempts. Now, another Massachusetts company, Noodlers Ink, has christened its largest pen the Neponset. The shape of the Neponset pen is similar to the dirigible and is constructed of the original fountain pen material - ebonite, which was vulcanized in 1844 by Charles Goodyear (in Massachusetts) whose company built the Neponset airship. The Neponset comes with a three tined music nib, the *Vishnu Victory* in honor of the 2.5 million World War II allied soldiers of India as well as the reference to the source for the acrylic or ebonite used in the pen and the original Neponset blimp. The pen weighs only 0.8 ounces fully inked and is perfectly balanced for any size hand. The length is generous, yet not overwhelming, at 6 inches long. Bottle fill only.
