The Old Man and the Sea is a stylistic and thematic departure from the Hemingway collector series (2016-2020). While past editions dealt with the author’s life, this newest creation pivots to the plot of one of his most iconic stories: the fictional account of the plucky fisherman, Santiago, and his epic struggle to bring a giant marlin to shore. Written in Cuba, “The Old Man and the Sea” was the last volume of fiction published during Hemingway’s lifetime, and many – including the author – have called it his finest work. After premiering in LIFE magazine’s September 1, 1952 edition, it earned Hemingway the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Editions of this exquisite pen collection, limited to 70 pieces per mode on two tiers, reference the 70th anniversary of this prestigious award._____________________________
Lost wax casting and hand-enamelling capture the central elements of Hemingway’s story. A carved cap and blind cap represent Santiago’s skiff in kotibé mahogany, while enamelled segments depict sea and sky – providing a backdrop for the edition’s centerpiece. Inspired by early editions of the book, a full-length sculpted silver barrel dramatizes the fisherman’s struggle with the marlin. Further detailing includes a silver fishing-rod clip, sculpted trim rings, an engraved grip section and a high-relief cap top brandishing Hemingway’s game-fishing monogram. On the lower barrel, translucent ocean-blue enamel reveals sculpted detailing beneath the ocean’s currents and the sharks who torment Santiago’s attempts to return to shore.________________________________________
The Old Man and the Sea is issued as a fountain pen and rollerball on two tiers: sterling silver and vermeil (24K yellow gold-plated silver). Fountain pens are equipped with a Montegrappa piston-fill mechanism and a 6mm custom 18kt gold nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1mm) with ebonite feed. Custom packaging for this edition has been designed with display in mind, and comprises an antiqued wooden replica of Santiago’s boat, designed to be fitted with a die-cut marlin mascot in solid metal.

CALLIGRAPHY MEETS CONSERVATION: MONTEGRAPPA GOES WILD
Project WILD and Montegrappa depart Africa in search of cooler climes. Our newest collaboration with wildlife photographers and campaigners, Helle and Uri Løvevild Golman, ventures to the Arctic, where climactic extremes are as different as day and night. The WILD Nature Foundation founders’ devotion to the world’s most remote locations highlights what we all stand to lose. Two-tone Montegrappite emulates the moods of the threatened region in dazzling shades of blue. Our proprietary artisanal resin offers efficiencies that reduce the waste of conventional acrylics. The ‘Ghost of the Arctic’: the snowy owl’s wing feather is a staple of all Project WILD editions. A custom steel clip symbolizes the fragility of nature – and Helle and Uri’s enduring efforts to preserve it. “What you love ⋅ You will protect.” Engraved into the cap top, Project WILD’s mantra and expedition patch offers direction – and a reminder that love is always the answer. Spread the word. Limited editions of 999 fountain pens, rollerballs and ballpoints are accompanied by a selection of postcards featuring Project WILD’s finest polar wildlife images. Made with Montegrappite artisanal resin, Stainless steel appointments, cartridge or converter and 18K nib. Available in EF, F, M, B or 1.1 stub.

We are excited to reveal a thrilling expansion to our Fandom canon with an explosive new Cult-series Limited Edition. The debut silhouette from a new James Bond family of writing instruments is 007 Spymaster Duo. After six decades and 25 blockbuster movies, 007 needs no introduction. The legendary James Bond film franchise celebrates 60 years on 5 October 2022. Our journey with the famous secret agent begins with a flashback to his first movie: the iconic Dr. No, starring Sean Connery. Our edition connects with an early scene from the 1962 classic, in which Bond is issued with his infamous .380 caliber Walther PPK revolver. This plot point intersects with all elements of product design and presentation. But our edition goes beyond simple homage to embrace spy craft – with two remarkable, concealed mechanical complications and a daringly innovative cartridge-based filling system. 007 Spymaster Duo combines a rifled, grey stainless-steel cap and upper barrel with a knurled lower barrel in black anodized aluminum and a steel grip section. However, like any good tool of the spy trade, its true mischief is kept out of sight. A set of grey steel 007 cufflinks is concealed within the upper barrel, and can be accessed via a special locking mechanism and dummy blind cap. Fountain pens are even more ingenious, with a revolutionary Swift-Shot filling system developed especially for this edition. A pair of brass ink capsules resemble the Walther PPK’s 7.65 mm cartridges, and are refilled using Power-Push hydraulic action and a custom-made reloading pipette supplied in aluminum/steel together with pouring spout and rinsing tube accessories. Fountain pens are also supplied with twin 007 and 60th Anniversary ink bottles of blue and black ink. An 8mm, 18K ruthenium gold nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) also brandishes the James Bond 60th Anniversary logo. Custom packaging supplied with both editions emulates a leatherette Walther PPK travel case, and contains an exclusive, foil-stamped notebook along with product pouches, cleaning cloth, documentation and storage compartments. Rollerball and fountain pen editions of 380 pieces reference the caliber of the Walther PPK.

A new Limited Edition commemorates the spirit of exploration that gripped Europe from the 15th to 18th centuries – and the handheld technology that made it possible. Age of Discovery is made in limited editions of 250 fountain pens and 250 rollerballs, referencing 500 years since the death of the explorer, Ferdinand Magellan (1480-1521), and his armada’s first circumnavigation of the earth in 1522. A vintage mahogany/antique brass body shows obvious allusions to a golden age, but concealed mechanical complications make this a classic with a modern twist Navigational aids provide the central design elements: a vintage telescope inspires the body, and a sextant provides the clip. Inside the finial is a miniature magnetic compass – a custom complication developed with Politecnico di Milano. Sapphire glass at each end simulates a lens (with hinged cap) and eyepiece to reinforce the novelty of its telescopic form.Fountain pens have an additional important feature facilitated by the edition’s unique shape. A telescopic barrel action activates Power-Push: only the fourth time that our elite-grade, one-touch filling mechanism has featured on a production-model pen. Its integration within the telescopic casing makes access more direct than ever. Fountain pens are fitted with a 6mm, 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1) with ebonite feed. The custom-engraved nib bears a compass, reinforcing the theme of the pen’s complications and presentation case. Custom packaging is an antique, brass-reinforced instrument chest with a plaque inlay memorialising the Magellan Expedition. The silhouette of the Spanish ship Victoria is realized in low relief inside the barrel-end eyepiece, while her historic route around the world is deep-laser-engraved into the lower barrel. Elsewhere, brass is elaborated with perforation, knurling, threading and other ornamentations, while the Montegrappa logo is engraved into the base of the mahogany cap. This particular brass has a timbre that ages extraordinarily well, becoming shinier and more nuanced with sustained use.

Our new non plus ultra-release marks the centenary of one of the 20th century’s most momentous discoveries. Richly detailed and shrouded in gold, the very-limited Tutankhamun.
4 November 2022 marks 100 years since the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt’s Valley of the Gods. Revealed to the public on 30 January 1923, the riches discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter captivated the world, sparking a wave of popular interest in ancient civilizations that continues to this day.
Tutankhamun memorializes Carter’s discovery through its most enduring image: the pharaoh’s extraordinary solid-gold death mask. Recognized as one of the world’s most celebrated treasures, our centennial editions emulate the original with black diamond inlays and hand-enameling on caps sculpted in vermeil (100 FP + RB) Please note, the mask’s plaited beard is not designed to serve as a clip.
Beneath the cap, a sculpted barrel offers a stylized representation of Tutankhamun’s mummy. Realized in sterling silver or 18K gold, its aged effect is achieved organically with cataphoretic coating. Grip sections and blind caps are made from vermeil or solid gold – depending on edition. Fountain pens are cartridge/converter and are fitted with a 6mm, 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) customized with a hieroglyphic representation of ‘Montegrappa’ – previously featured on Thoth (Ancient Civilizations, 2017).
Elaborate custom packaging revisits the scene of Carter’s epic discovery – reconstructing the pharaoh’s burial chamber in a diorama showcase with three nested coffins at its center. As they remove Tutankhamun from its gilded coffin, owners will feel a sense of play and discovery

Skulls & Roses marks a new beginning – both thematically and stylistically. Its gothic deco enjoys wide resonance in religion, art and music as a symbol of rebirth. Meanwhile, the edition’s full-body ornamentation is a demonstration of our recently acquired, 6-axis deep laser engraving capability. Future limited releases will make use of this technique to bring new moods to precious metals and our most iconic silhouettes. This radical reworking of our flagship Extra shape features an all-over tattoo engraving enhanced with antiquing and satin finishing. Lightly textured, its continuous pattern completely envelops Skulls & Roses’ sterling-silver body. Mirror-polished silver end discs, cap band, trim ring and clip are points of continuity from the Extra family, while a lifeblood red cubic zirconia and magma Montegrappite grip section provide the design’s only traces of colour. Skulls & Roses is available in limited editions of 333 fountain pens and rollerballs and is delivered in a walnut case with a custom plaque and certificate. Fountain pens carry the same specifications as the Extra 1930: piston-fill with an 8mm, 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B. Stub 1.1) with ebonite feed and a custom 50ml bottle of ink. The limited-edition Bijo-To-Yaju has been created in collaboration with Japanese designer, Tomita Kazuhiko. Made of vermeil and acrylic, Bijo-To-Yaju is an art piece that bends many of the accepted conventions of pen design. Its vertical orientation, 21mm heft, clipless cap, and lock-and-key appendages provide extraordinary form factor. Bijo-To-Yaju is a showpiece item for collectors, and a valuable curio and accessory for art and literature aficionados, as well as wide range of media. Its avant-garde styling is remarkable and eye-catching – and continues a long tradition of Montegrappa designs that challenge norms. Please take the time to understand product features and backstory, and ensure our sales partners are equipped to support it to its full potential Meanwhile, graphic embellishments reproduce fragments of 18th-century Ukiyo-e woodblock prints on film, joined by hand-painted Kintsugi detailing in gold enamel relief. However its pièce de résistance is a sculpted finial and base modelled on the head and rump of the Shishi. Created using lost wax casting, the eastern lion figure is an analogy for the protagonist from Beauty and the Beast. Part pen, part fairy tale – the concept of Bijo-To-Yaju fuses Japanese artistry with European storytelling, drawing attention to universal principles of heroism, beauty and love. Bijo-To-Yaju is made in editions of 222 fountain pens and 99 rollerballs, and is supplied in a co-signed custom wooden case inspired by the tiered roofs of a Japanese castle. Fountain pens are piston-fed and fitted with an 8mm 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) – custom-engraved with the floral motif featured at the base of the cap. Both the castle and flower recall important plot elements from a story that has been retold for over 4,000 years – most notably by Jean Cocteau’s 1946 film, La Belle et la Bête.

Following the recently released Eye of Sauron: Middle-earth, The Lord of the Rings: Doom introduces new materials, new finishes and a sinister mood to the familiar form of our debut Limited Edition model. The release of this reconfigured design rides on resurgent interest in the Tolkien universe in anticipation of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, premiering worldwide on Prime from 2 September 2022.
Made in sterling silver only, the collection comprises 137 fountain pens and rollerballs respectively: a reference to the 1.37km (4,500ft) height of Mount Doom. Besides the narrower edition scope, key differences from the original design are the addition of a fiery Montegrappite core, as well as ruthenium and yellow-gold plating on all-silver componentry. The result is richer in colour and demonic intent, channelling the menace of Mount Doom – the location where the Ruling Ring was both created and destroyed.
As before, dominant artisanal techniques are lost wax casting and enamel painting (on the resin eye), and the design includes a full-scale gold-plated One Ring and green cubic zirconia. The fountain pen features a 6mm 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, BB. Stub 1.1) customised with the monogram of J.R.R. Tolkien. A bottle of black ink is supplied. Custom packaging features some stylistic modifications from the earlier edition, including a new booklet and certificate in a lacquered wooden cast.

The limited-edition Montegrappa Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation: Ocean Collection signals the beginning of an important new partnership with the environmental organisation led by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. Montegrappa Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation: Ocean Collection is as regal and intriguing as its name suggests. Its unorthodox design combines heritage luxury values with brazen environmental messaging, and is made from dark-blue celluloid, cubic zirconia and two qualities of sterling silver.Trims are realised in polished silver, including a striking clip modelled on King Neptune’s trident. Satin-finish sterling silver is used for the barrel and for the main body of an elongated, deep-profile cap. The silhouette’s unique cap/barrel configuration revives the proportions of 2013’s Genio Creativo: Salvador Dalí. But on this occasion, its purpose is functional. Each component is engraved with Victorian maritime illustrations. On the cap, fibre-laser engravings depict pristine seas and the foundation’s clean-oceans vision. The barrel appears similar but reveals a more sombre reality on closer inspection. The artistic contrast is arresting and draws a parallel between writing instruments and the fight to stem the flow of ocean waste. Further points of interest include parabolic cubic zirconia affixed to each end. Inspired by deep-sea exploration, they symbolise the need to look beneath the surface, while magnifying the foundation’s logo and the edition number. Rollerball and fountain pen options are issued in editions of 300. Fountain pens are cartridge/converter-fed, and are fitted with an 8mm, 18K gold custom nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) and ebonite feed. The much-awaited final chapter in our celebration of Italy’s supreme poet has arrived. Following last year’s Dante Alighieri: Inferno and Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio, our Divina Commedia series is completed with the release of the astonishing Dante Alighieri: Paradiso.
Dante Alighieri: Paradiso more than lives up to its name and the high standards of craftsmanship set by its predecessors. Whereas Inferno and Purgatorio reckoned with matters of sin, our tribute to the third book of the Divine Comedy symbolizes virtue and divine love in both spirit and style. The striking beauty of Dante Alighieri: Paradiso has dual significance: as a stand-alone piece, and as a gateway to one of the most accomplished collections created in our 110-year history. Its design continues the essential artisanal concept and narrative style of Inferno and Purgatorio. Once again, a Montegrappite core combines with elaborate lost wax sculpting, but this time, the earthly circles and terraces of earlier editions are replaced by Heaven’s celestial spheres. Each sphere is represented by colored stones – zirconia (silver) and precious gems (gold) – set into the length of the barrel, with labels in English and Italian. On the opposing side, scenes from Dante’s pilgrimage towards God depict his encounters with human virtue: fortitude, justice, temperance and prudence on spheres 1-7, followed by faith, hope and charity/love (sphere 8). Nine orders of angels encircle the cap, comprising the ‘Primum Mobile’ – a ninth cosmological sphere around which all else rotates. They rise towards three shining discs on the cap top, elaborating Dante’s visualization of God as the holy trinity. Glorifications on blind cap, cap rings and clip add period-correct ornamentation. Like the prequel designs, editions for Dante Alighieri: Paradiso follow Dante’s numerological symbolism, with 333 fountain pens and rollerballs in sterling silver/vermeil, and 9 of each in 18K yellow/white gold. Fountain pens are piston-fed, with a 18K white/yellow gold nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1) custom-engraved with Dante’s likeness, and paired with an ebonite feed. Custom packaging again resembles an antique leather book to perfectly reinforce the three-volume structure of the Divine Comedy. Realized in sky blue, it completes a trilogy that reflects Dante’s progression through hell, purgatory and heaven.

The Batman. Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, the new movie recasts the iconic character in his own story for the first time in ten years. This reincarnation is dark, gritty and raw, with a plotline that focuses on the young Bruce Wayne’s early crimefighting career. In sync with the movie’s ethos, our design boasts extreme, tactical styling with engineering, materials and finishing to match. It is built from 5-axis CNC-milled Grade 2 titanium, embellished with black ruthenium polished brass and stainless steel.
Brass components are made using machine-turning and lost-wax casting – with the latter technique used for the cap’s complex appendages and a Batman emblem piece set in the barrel. This same marking appears in laser engraving on the steel cap disc. The pen’s octagonal profile is an elaborate reworking of the Extra Otto – a writing instrument we would expect billionaire Bruce Wayne to own. Key design elements echo the form and function of his new Batsuit: angled armor plating with flat, industrial finishes and integrated utility. A spring-loaded pocket clip is inspired by the superhero’s signature grapple gun, and five grappling hooks are mounted at the rear of the cap. Cap cladding modelled on Batman’s gauntlet – a key element in his new arsenal that features the Montegrappa logo. The Batman: Limited Edition is issued as editions of 330 rollerballs and fountain pens: piston-fill with an 8mm. polished black ruthenium 18K gold custom nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) engraved with the silhouette of Batman’s cowl. Both editions are supplied with a lacquered wooden desk stand cut in the shape of a bat. Custom packaging is also solid wood, embellished with the official The Batman logo.

A new objet ’art from Montegrappa combines radiant textures and precious metals in celebration of divine authority. A meticulous lost-wax casting of Moses upon Mount Sinai is surrounded by Judaic and Christian motifs from Europe’s leading religious and cultural sites. A pocket-clip inspired by Michelangelo and a barrel carved from artisanal resin are luxurious counterpoints to pious design and craftsmanship. Every pen tells a story. The figure of the prophet from Gustave Doré’s ‘Moses Breaking the Tablets of the Law’ is framed by ornamentations from the Spanish Synagogue in Prague. Features from Michelangelo’s Moses at Italy’s Church of San Pietro in Vincoli are interpreted into a clip that stands majestically above shimmering, hand-carved lengths of Montegrappite. This exclusive new artisanal resin offers confident handle, while avoiding the sins of conventional industrial acrylics. Handmade from precious metals and Montegrappite, The Ten Commandments L.E. is a small-batch Special Edition that celebrates shared beliefs. Its cross-denominational design is realized using the very best of ancient and modern Italian craftsmanship. The Ten Commandments is engraved into the crown in both Hebrew and English. The pen’s finial disc and barrel are carved from Montegrappa’s new proprietary artisanal resin. Boasting shimmering optics and confident handle, Montegrappite is made by hand only miles from Italy’s home of handwriting. Small batches are patiently mixed, poured and cured, before lathing reveals textures only nature can design. Boutique production repays the favor, ensuring less wastage and new recycled blends. The Limited-edition fountain pens are equipped with Montegrappa’s patented piston-fill and supplied with an 18K gold filigree nib with ebonite feed and is available in M,F,XF,B,BB, and stub.

When picking up a Montegrappa Ammiraglio (or, Admiral), one feels not just the perfect balance of the pen itself, but the culmination of a century of craftsmanship. These pens are, quite simply, beautiful. What first thing you’ll notice about this pen is the four stratified colorways that comes in the Admiral set. A unique blend of colors is at once vibrant while not being ostentatious. It’s this balance of subtlety and art that has become a hallmark of Montegrappa’s design aesthetic. I am personally drawn to the Samba color, while others may love the Menta, a white and turquoise blend that’s as cool as the name implies. For me, I’m still learning about fountain pens, and the Admiral collection is the perfect entre into the intelligence and craftsmanship that goes into these pens. For example, this is the first time I have been able to write with a #8 nib. The standard nibs that I’ve written with before are #5’s and #6’s. The #8 gives a bolder finish the writing experiencing while applying a bit more wetness to the ink. I like this handling more than Montegrappa’s more diminutive cousins, offering me a rounded writing experiencing without taking away from the weight of the pen. The larger nib, in fact, complements the body well. And speaking of the body, the Admiral is another thoughtful design element of this pen. Based on an earlier Sailor archive model, this design finishes with a broader cap than the barrel with the tiniest bit of curvature as it reaches the finial. It’s this attention to the finer points of the pen which really make me appreciate the Admirals when admiring the pen on my desk. As with most businesses that are dedicated to artisanal quality and heritage design, it’s the small details which add up to a beautiful experience. The Admiral set is no different. Experiencing the finer points of the pen lead to a better appreciation for Montegrappa – and an understanding why they are synonymous with Italian excellence. This four-set comes in Scream, Sambra, Menta, and Freedom. Each pen is numbered for a limited quantity. The fountain pen are enhanced with 18kt Gold Nib. Piston Fill.

The silhouette of the Baobab tree and the feather of the Snowy Owl are the standout features of a new, limited-edition pen made with wildlife photographers, Uri and Helle Løvevild Golman by Montegrappa.
“What you love ⋅ You will protect” is the mantra of an exotic new writing instrument made by Montegrappa in collaboration with National Geographic Explorers and Photographers, Uri and Helle Løvevild Golman. The Danish couple’s search for the world’s most elusive wildlife has earned them a formidable reputation. Now their attention is focused on tangible conservation actions, and the creation of the WILD Nature Foundation. The pen is named WILD: Baobab – a reference to the tree that can store up to 120,000 litres of water in its trunk. The survival instinct of these icons of the African plains symbolizes the couple’s intrepid careers, and is an apt motif for an object with conservation at its core. Its subtle coloring and lightly bulbous silhouette mimic the Baobab using a unique artisanal resin with a significantly lower environmental footprint than conventional alternatives. The WILD Explorer expedition badge engraved into the pen’s top reinforces its sense of purpose, but the design’s coup de grâce is undoubtedly its feather-shaped pocket-clip. Besides its striking beauty, the clip represents an intimate symbol of the Golmans’ professional and private lives together. Their relationship began when Uri gifted Helle a wing feather left behind by a Snowy Owl. Since that moment, the couple has embarked on countless expeditions together and seen their work published in many of the world’s leading periodicals. The feather is tattooed onto Uri’s forearm – a permanent memento of love and a shared passion for the wild. Nearly three years on, Uri’s rehabilitation continues under Helle’s care, and the couple harbor strong hopes of returning to the wild. From their Danish base, they have set up the WILD Nature Foundation – a non-profit with an ambitious agenda of conservation awareness and action. Montegrappa’s partnership with the foundation led to the Italian company inviting the Golmans to collaborate on the WILD: Baobab as a gesture of solidarity and strength. Besides guiding the pen’s design, a cache of the couple’s best work features wildlife from all seven continents on a set of deluxe postcards accompanying the limited release. The Fountain Pen is enhanced with a 18kt gold nib, available in M,F,and B. Piston Fill.

Following the release of the Dante Alighieri: Inferno earlier this year, we are excited to announce the arrival of its spectacular sequel. Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio is the second edition in the Montegrappa Divina Commedia series. As before, the context for this release is the 700th anniversary of the death of Italy’s greatest literary figure. Dante Alighieri died in Ravenna in 1321, and this year has seen countless museums and galleries around the world celebrate the visionary genius of Dante’s Divine Comedy. Just as the volumes of the Divine Comedy segue neatly together, so the design of Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio continues the principles established by the preceding edition. On our Inferno design, the circles of hell descend from the cap top. By contrast, Purgatorio shows the terraces of Mount Purgatory ascending from the blind cap. This inverse relationship reflects a medieval belief that the impact of Lucifer’s fall from heaven created hell, displacing rock to form Mount Purgatory. Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio is built on identical design principles to its predecessor, but features even higher levels of artistry. Once again, the intricate, precious-metal outer structure has been created with lost wax casting, and fitted around a specially blended Elysian Montegrappite core. A softer colour palette reflects the more hopeful mood of Dante’s Purgatorio. Hand-enamelled filling again adds lush colours to a cloisonné cap top (a representation of the Garden of Eden), and highlights the transitions found on barrel and cap. The levels that make up the body reflect the classical seven deadly sins, and Dante’s seven terraces of purgatory: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Avarice, Gluttony and Lust. A small difference from Inferno is the addition of plaques in Italian (front) as well as English (back). Each enamel ring features a unique relief comprising the letter ‘P’ (peccatum = sin). Its changing frequency represents the progressive cleansing of Dante’s soul as he ascends the mountain. The centrepiece of Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio is a miraculous, 2-layer clip cast from gold vermeil and sterling silver . This ornate motif refers to the silver and gold keys that open Peter’s Gate, the entrance to Mount Purgatory. It symbolises, in effect, a desire for self-improvement. Dante Alighieri: Purgatorio is made in editions of 333 fountain pens and rollerballs.. As before, editions reference the extraordinary numerical patterns and 3-part structure of the Divine Comedy. Fountain pens are piston-fed, with a custom 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1) engraved with Dante’s profile, and ebonite feed. Custom packaging is a companion to Inferno – resembling an antique, debossed leather book, this time in deep grey. The “P P P P P P P” inscription on the keeper refers to the angelic insignia erased from Dante’s forehead during his journey.

Following the 2020 release of the F1® Seventy, the lights are turning green for our next official Formula 1® project. The limited-edition F1® Speed collection is on the grid, led by Racing Red and ready to rush to you from the end of June, 2021. Last year’s commemorative release added a high-tech twist to a classical silhouette, but the F1® Speed collection is a modern thoroughbred – crafting hi-tech materials and finishes into a silhouette with obvious allusions to Formula 1 high-tech design. The collection is made from carbon fibre and high-gloss, lacquered brass – complemented by satin-finish, ruthenium-brass hardware. Other detailing includes a sterling-silver finial core, hi-visibility resin accents and a scorched stainless-steel barrel end. Aerodynamic contours are found in a radical flared barrel, graduated step and clip, and are inspired by lines of Formula 1’s next-generation 2022 design package. F1® branding on the clip is hand-enamelled, as is the Montegrappa insignia – boldly positioned on the finial tyre element. F1® Speed - Racing Red is available in rollerball and fountain pen editions of 372 pieces – a reference to the top speed ever recorded in a FIA Formula One World Championship race (Juan Pablo Montoya/McLaren-Mercedes at the 2005 Italian Grand Prix). Fountain pens are cartridge/converter-driven, and are fitted with a ruthenium-plated, 6mm 18K gold custom F1® logo nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1). Custom packaging is a scaled-up version of our Premium packaging finished in racing-red and black with the F1® logo.

Ladies and gentleman, Montegrappa's Icon Series
presents the David Bowie limited-edition fountain pen and rollerball. David Bowie fans count among the most passionate communities of aficionados and collectors and sense a deep attachment to his artistry and mystique. Beyond this tight-knit community, Bowie-themed products are often highly regarded by fashion customers. Curated releases from several brands in recent years have enjoyed high exposure in fashion/lifestyle media. Many have a predilection for reporting and sharing David Bowie news.
12 June 2021 is Record Store Day, an occasion where music fans and collectors support independent music retail by buying rare and exceptional releases. Montegrappa will be announcing the release of David Bowie to coincide with Record Store Day, and request that distributors and dealers also observe this date as a focal point in all dealings with the public and media. David Bowie is the 11th subject in the Montegrappa Icons series. Previous musicians honoured in the series have been Frank Sinatra (2011), Elvis Presley (2013), Quincy Jones (2014) and Queen (2019). David Bowie is the lowest-denomination edition created thus far, and is sure to sell out quickly.
Since his dramatic death only two days after the release of his final studio album, David Bowie's claim as one of the most iconic artists of the modern age has only strengthened. The limited-edition David Bowie is ultra-modern, designed in the album's sparse, futuristic visual style. Cap, trim and clip are structured from black ruthenium-plated brass, while the barrel and custom section are carved from black, high-density acrylic. All surfaces are embellished with diamond- and laser-engraved grids, glyphs and motifs created by designer, Jonathan Barnbrook.
Both modes are available in a continuous limited edition of 801 pieces (400 RB + 401 FP), with all nibs and tips embellished with the artist's lightning-bolt logo. The edition numbering refers to 8 January: David Bowie's birthday and the release date of his final work. Fountain pens are piston-fed and fitted with a 6mm, ruthenium-coated 18K nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, STUB) with a black ebonite feed. Deluxe custom packaging continues the artistic theme of the album, with a die-cut star viewing panel. The package is designed for free-standing and wall-mounted display, and is equipped with a recessed mounting rack.

Our first release of 2021 is an homage to a momentous Italian work of art. To commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of one of literature’s greatest figures, we are inaugurating a new collector series with Dante Alighieri: Inferno. This spectacular first edition from the Divina Commedia series. Completed in 1320, Dante’s Divine Comedy is an epic narrative poem divided in three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. Over 14,233 lines of rhyming verse, Dante embarks on a 6-day voyage that describes the journey of the soul towards God. Inferno is Dante’s most famous work, and vividly charts his descent into hell and his renunciation of sin.
From top disc to blindcap, Dante Alighieri: Inferno illustrates the poet’s voyage with intricate lost-wax casting. Between the mysterious, hand-enamelled forest where Dante’s journey begins, and the devil’s realm, our craftspeople have recreated each of hell’s nine circles: limbo; lust; gluttony; greed; wrath; heresy; violence; fraud and treachery. A pocket-clip evoking Lucifer’s tail appears to exit through the cap after extending through the entire length of the pen. Built around a core of Montegrappite, sterling silver versions are made in editions of 333 fountain pens and rollerballs, while an 18K gold edition comprises 9 examples in each mode. Edition sizes reference the extraordinary patterns found throughout the Divine Comedy. Fountain pens are piston-fed, with an 18K gold nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1) customised with Dante’s profile and paired with an ebonite feed

Announcing a special, two-volume limited edition for the 85th anniversary of the world’s favorite board game. While there is much to admire and share about both pen designs, the edition’s most noticeable feature is its innovative custom packaging. Each piece arrives within a fully functional, deluxe MONOPOLY gameboard (500x500mm) supplied with eight sterling-silver player tokens. Pens are housed discreetly beneath the board. MONOPOLY was created by Parker Brothers and launched in the U.S. market on 5 November 1935. 85 years later, its presence within the global consumer goods and pop culture landscape is extraordinary. A seemingly infinite number of game editions and brand extensions exist – reflecting the game’s universal brand awareness and cross-generational appeal. In recent years, MONOPOLY’s timeless visual identity and high-roller style have made it a popular choice for star fashion and luxury brands, whose campaigns have been enthusiastically embraced by lifestyle media. Coach received considerable attention for a $1,500 leather-bound playset released in 2015. The story of ‘MONOPOLY with bling’ is one that many media outlets are willing to tell. Few Montegrappa limited editions have been more charming or engaging. Both designs succeed by remaining faithful to the essence of the game, with obvious luxury upgrades. Far more than being a prestige accessory for game aficionados, MONOPOLY L.E. is a trophy for any self-proclaimed tycoon. Created under license to Hasbro, The MONOPOLY L.E. collection comprises two volumes: MONOPOLY: 85TH ANNIVERSARY and MONOPOLY: MR. MONOPOLY. Both share the same essential specifications: perforated, precious-metal sheaths around a resin core, with gemstone detailing and a custom clip. Each volume has a unique body deco and uses different resin colors in the sterling-silver variant (red for 85TH ANNIVERSARY; vintage mint for MR. MONOPOLY). Sterling-silver editions (85 pieces of each volume, in FP and RB options) feature zirconia, while 18K gold editions (8 FP, 5 RB for each volume) are encrusted with diamonds. The 85TH ANNIVERSARY volume contains additional gemstone detailing on its barrel.
Fountain pens are piston-fill, and fitted with 6mm 18K gold nibs – customized for each volume: 85TH ANNIVERSARY fountain pens are etched with the MONOPOLY dollar symbol, while the MR. MONOPOLY edition features its mascot’s top hat and mustache.

2020 SEA SHEPHERD AND MONTEGRAPPA TOAST PARTNERSHIP: AND A RARE VICTORY
Following her sinking, the Essex’s twenty-strong crew found themselves stranded more than 1,200 nautical miles from land. When their ordeal ended, only eleven remained. Victory of the Whale’s circling sea of turquoise celluloid evokes their terrifying plight. A new Montegrappa Limited Edition marks a symbolic moment of resistance to mankind’s plundering of the oceans. This first collaboration with Sea Shepherd uses repurposed materials and historical records to highlight the continued struggle to halt illegal whaling. Signature elements are cast from the propeller of Sea Shepherd’s former flagship, M/Y Steve Irwin. Recovered materials provide a tactile connection to years of front- line activism. Handcrafted mahogany and bronze evoke the Essex’s hull, harpoons and whaleboats, while a black band flies Sea Shepherd’s rejigged Jolly Roger flag: a last line of defense between whale and whaler. The bicentenary of the Essex sinking is referenced by editions of 200 fountain pens and 200 rollerballs. Individual numbering is etched in bronze alongside the Victory of the Whale legend. The Fountain pen is enhanced with a 18kt gold nib. Piston Fill. The collection is completed with a matching rollerball.

The first-ever Montegrappa carved from stone combines mystique and engineering intrigue. It is made from lapis lazuli - a mineral mined in the mountains of Afghanistan for more than 6,000 years. Its deep-blue tone and golden flecks have made it an object of desire for many civilisations: the ancient Egyptians revered its healing properties and celestial appearance.
Lapis lazuli is described in ancient references as sapphirus or sapphire and is a material used in both traditional and contemporary jewellery. Preparing the stone for the Extra Otto Sapphirus required the development of special diamond-cutting techniques and a carbon-fibre core for strength and lightness.
The edition of 192 pieces represents the chapters comprising the Book of the Dead: works of ancient Egyptianliterature describing transition to the afterlife. It exists in fountain pen mode only, with an 18K gold nib, (EF, F, M, B, with ebonite feeder and piston filling. Rose gold-plated sterling silver trims feature the Montegrappa insignia between figures of the Eye of Horus and winged scarab.
Special packaging is supplied courtesy of a deluxe Extra wooden case with custom plaque, custom booklet and a bottle of ink.

LORD OF THE RINGS Limited Edition.
Hot on the heels of Montegrappa’s Game of Thrones release arrives a new chapter in Montegrappa’s continuing affair with fantasy….the Lord of the Rings Limited Edition. This seminal work of fantasy needs little introduction. J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic trilogy is estimated to have sold more than 150 million copies since publication in 1954-55. Meanwhile Sir Peter Jackson’s blockbuster movie trilogy (2001-03) grossed $3 billion, while winning 475 international awards. It is, quite simply, a franchise at the very pinnacle of fantasy and geek culture. A new production for television is currently in development in one of Hollywood’s most secretive projects, but Montegrappa has chosen to focus on the legend of the movie trilogy as that clearly dictates public perception of Tolkien’s work. The Lord of the Rings Limited Edition features a charcoal celluloid core enveloped by a lost-wax casting in sterling silver. From the hand-enamelled Eye of Sauron hovering ominously within its cap, down to detailed reproductions of Fellowship regalia around its barrel, aficionados of Middle-earth will find much in this limited edition to tempt them. Most precious of all is a replica of the One Ring, in gold vermeil, provided in place of a conventional cap band, which can be left on the pen, or removed to be worn or carried.
The piston-fill fountain pen features an 18kt Gold nib available in EF, F, M, B, BB and Stub 1.1mm widths and is decorated in gold leaf with J.R.R. Tolkien’s notable monogram – a symbol featured on the spine of all his books. This Edition of 379 Fountain Pens and 379 Rollerballs refers to the batches of rings forged for elves, dwarves and men.

A Pen Fit For Kings & Queens
Following the first set of pens celebrating the great houses in Game Of Thrones, Montegrappa has issued a new series of Limited Edition Iron Throne Pens. Capturing the essence of the most coveted seat in the Westeros, the iron throne pens will provide fans with a talisman to cherish.
The Iron Throne Pen
To represent the intricacies and complexities of the iron throne itself, Motegrappa's artisans have fashioned a cap formed of overlapping swords representing the seven kingdoms. Their hilts rise above the cap's top to create a crown, the pommels and blades running the length of the cap itself. Standing proud is a sword that serves as the pocket clip, it's hilt bearing a fiery red ruby. At the cap's top, surrounded by the swords' hilts, is the Game Of Thrones logo. The pen's barrel, a truly virtuous artwork fashioned in precious metal with the lost-wax casting technique, represents the saga through symbols evocative of the houses, from dragons to stags. Details of the pen are enriched with flaming white celluloid.
Game Of Thrones: The Iron Throne Pen is limited to 300 fountain pens and 300 rollerball pens in sterling silver with vermeil accents, denoting the year of settlement of the last of the Targaryen Kings (300 AC). The fountain pen is piston fed, with nib in 18k gold, engraved with the image of the throne itself and available in M,F,B.
